Royal African Foundation

A distinctive feature of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is its emphasis on reaching the poorest and most vulnerable population. Ranging from poverty and hunger, health and education, to resource management and inequality, the challenges facing humanity are real, can be overwhelming and require a significant support system. A system that addresses these issues at policy and programmatic, as well as local community levels. More than ever, the empowerment of the most vulnerable, including children, youths, women, internally displaced persons, and persons with disabilities, of whom 80% live in poverty, is essential.

The Royal African Foundation is a platform of the His Imperial Majesty, the Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, the 51st Ooni of Ife to promote the achievement of development outcomes among underserved populations. Our aim of the platform is to mobilise resources, catalyze efforts and foster proactive multi-sectoral partnership towards an inclusive continent. The strategic objectives are to:
  • Promote knowledge sharing and partnership formation for inclusive development;
  • Mobilise resources to directly address poverty, inequality and social exclusion by supporting programmatic interventions at the grassroot.
  • Create a platform for the development and support of budding development practitioners;
